Ya so the subject above made these last 4 days interesante for sure!
Ever
We started teaching a couple a while ago and they have a son named Ever. He's very nice and invited us to his youth group night that he was having at his church. We agreed that we'd go to his youth night if he'd come to our church. So, we pull up Friday night after our English class and walk in and turns out it was a panel/Q&A about dating.... awkward. We see Ever and his buddy chillin in one of the rows. He kept texting us to see if we were there yet. We were like oh no we are not doing this. So, we walked out before Ever could even see us. Ah it was so funny and awkward ha! That's one I'm gonna remember. We almost got tricked into a double date.
Temple
I don't think I've ever felt so much peace in the temple before. Everyone said my first 6 months would be the hardest, but no. This Hermana has had the hardest last 6 months. I took many questions with me to the temple as I am getting ready to come home. I can honestly say that the temple is truly a place of peace. I was able to receive a big answer to a question I've had for a while. The first 3 minutes into the endowment session I was in tears because of the overwhelming feeling of love that surrounded me. One of the biggest things I've learned very recently is that God truly is a loving Heavenly Father. He does want what's best for us. I felt that and I knew that as I sat in the temple. If you haven't been to the temple recently, I would strongly encourage you to do so!
Eduardo
Our member friend Eduardo is amazing. He is the husband of Aida and the stepdad of Michelle and Stephanie who are on date for April 27 (triste cuz I'm leaving the 26) and wow he is amazing. He was inactive for many years and referred himself and Aida on Facebook for a missionary visit. They have been progressing well and we are excited for them! But the coolest part is that we have been able to gain a lot of trust with Eduardo and he referred his sister and her 3 children to us. We have been teaching them weekly and yesterday we had a very beautiful lesson about the gospel of Jesus Christ. We invited all of them to pray about baptism as their next step. When they get baptized, Eduardo will have helped 7 of his family members come to the knowledge of their Savior. It has been so fun and life changing to be able to teach these incredible people who have changed my life. Pray for Eduardo and his family!
Milagro
We were out walking around knocking doors on Thursday night when we went to a house that had someone who the missionaries were never able to get I contact with. We thought it would be okay to stop by, so we did. We knocked the door, and a woman answered and let us right in. We sat at her table and met her inactive husband. The woman's name was Angie and her and her husband were some of the nicest people I have ever met! They expressed to us that they wanted to meet with us and the inactive hermano wanted us to help teach his son who almost went on a mission. Angie is not a member and wanted to know more too. It was so so cool! Definitely a milagro!
"Here's my heart Lord, take and seal it"
This phrase from this Hymn has been stuck in my head all week. I've thought about it a lot and how when we truly give our heartfelt all and quite honestly our heart to the Lord. He will magnify our efforts and make us whole. I remember praying so hard on my knees this week giving my heart to the Lord. As I did that, I remembered the things that I've learned from studying hope this transfer. I have so much hope in the fact that Jesus Christ will take my heart as put together or as broken as it is, and heal it and seal it for my benefit. As I thought about that hope I read in Alma 34:41 which is one of my favorite scriptures and it says
"But that ye have patience, and bear with those afflictions, with a firm HOPE that ye shall one day rest from all your afflictions."
When we have hope, we are able to find joy and can then realize that we will one day rest from all of our afflictions. I thought about this a lot this week and have really tried to be happy and in the moment and full of hope! I really struggle living in the moment, but I know there's joy to be found when we do it! There are so many things to be happy about! Your smile is needed! And so is your light! So BE HAPPY! BE HOPEFUL! BE SMILEY! AND BE LIGHT!
Con tanto amor, hermanita bb ♡
