Compliments, car crash, and chocolate

Ya so this week happened. It was quite the adventure!

Car crash
Saturday afternoon we had finished our studies and decided we wanted to go to lunch. We headed to lunch and were on the freeway when we had to stop on the freeway, we were stopped when I hear the horrible screeching sound of breaks and next thing I knew, we were getting hit. I still hear that sound in my head. We both were okay, definitely shaken up. Luckily, our car was able to move so we pulled off into the shoulder. The girl who hit us pulled over as well and I got out to make sure she was okay while my comp grabbed all the paperwork. She was sweet, it was her first crash. I asked if I could give her a hug as she was in tears. Once I calmed her down a little bit, we got it all figured out. Her poor car was pretty much totaled. Our car surprising was fine. Let's go RAV 4! Once we got everything all squared away, we headed to the hospital for my comp. She was in a lot of back pain. As I was finishing filling out the paperwork. I realized what tender mercies the Lord provided. Our license was about to expire, the next day. If the car the girl drove was any bigger, we would've hit the car in front of us. And we are all alive and okay. Lots of back pain and sore muscles but we're doing okay. A little physical therapy awaits and some chiropractor appointments. I'm just grateful that we had angels watching over us.

Best compliment lol
This week during 2 member meals I was told by two different people that I looked like Belle from beauty and the best and that I looked like Ellie from UP. Literally 2 elite compliments! It was so funny because my comp said I don't have a real life look alike, only animated characters lol. So anyway, little side note that made my week.

Milagros
We had some very spiritual lessons this week. I've been praying a lot for the gift of tongues to be able to speak more by the spirit. With a little extra work and lots of faith, my spanish was able to teach well a lot this week. We had a lesson with the daughter of another friend we are teaching. The daughter is my age, has 2 little babies, and wants to grow closer to God. Her name is Carolina. We went into our lesson with a plan to teach a little bit about the restoration. Carolina decided she wanted to talk about baptism instead, say what? So we transitioned over to baptism in our very first lesson with her and now she's praying and going to come to church so she can know if baptism is her next step! It was FIRE!

Member milagros
We had some very cool milagros with members this week. We were in a lesson with our friend Yessica, and her 2 kids Geovanni and Taliz. Oh I love this family so so much. We sit in this very small room that they rent out. They moved here from Honduras just barely a year ago. We've been teaching them consistently and the kids come to church with a member because Yessica has to work on Sundays to keep providing for her family. For this lesson, we brought some of my favorite members who are also from Honduras. We were having a great lesson when the member named hna zuniga just straight up asks if they want to be baptized. Geovanni was all for it and wants it so bad. Taliz also wants it too. Yessica is a little hesitant but she knows it's true so we decided that for our next lesson, we are going to bring a baptism calendar and put them on date! Ahh I'm so excited! Members ROCK! I love our friends.

17 months
Wow I'm old. I hit 17 this week. I've been reflecting a lot on my mission and how it really has changed my life. I used to sleep with my tag on because I hated thinking that I wouldn't be able to wear it forever. Then I realized that if I have the name of Jesus Christ imprinted on my heart, I don't need the tag. I realized that I have to allow my mission to change me in order to make the most of it. I can honestly say, I have let my mission change me. I have let Jesus Christ change me. Only when we make the atonement personal, we are able to really see his healing power in our lives. I love my mission. It has and continues to be so extremely hard. But it's meant to be hard because His mission, the mission of Jesus Christ was the hardest mission there ever was. When I put my tag on, I committed to feeling just a token of what He felt and with that, I have made the atonement personal. I love this work. I love my Redeemer.

Jesus loves you!
God is always good.

The hardest thing I've ever loved to do

God is a loving Heavenly Father. The first principle we teach as missionaries.  A simple statement, but one that has changed my life.  God...
